Badlands National Monument
I had breakfast this morning in Wall Drug, hit an ATM for some cash and took off for the "Badlands". Since I grew up on cowboy movies I can't help but think back to the "bad guys" taking off for the "Badlands" to hide out. They couldn't have picked a better spot. These eroded hills and canyons go on for miles and you would never find someone who didn't want to be found.
I met a couple of bikers from Texas at one of the view areas and we said "howdy". They had already been to Sturgis and were heading home. The bikers come as much for the ride and scenery as the "party".
It was an overcast morning and almost foggy in places but, the deer didn't mind. Neither did the prairie dogs.
