Sturgis Flag Field

August 6:  The South Dakota Patriot Guard supplied and erected a flag field at the Buffalo Chip in Sturgis this morning.  I joined up with them at the high school in Rapid City.  There were bikes and bike stuff all over the place even in Rapid City.  I was following the directions along a street with baricades for left and right turns only.  I saw a bike with a Patriot Guard flag and two bikers running toward me.  They had me pull into the lot and told me where to park.

We left for Sturgis with me in the back, lights flashing and nobody paying attention to them!  We stopped at a gas station to join up with more riders.  The gas station was doing a booming business with bikes lined up at every pump and buying 3 or 4 gallons at a time.

We drove through Sturgis, blocking intersections, and made our way to "The Buffalo Chip".  At one point while creeping through town a police car went by in the opposite direction while we were blocking an intersection.  He looked over my truck and lights real good but didn't hassle us.  We made it in good order and the flags went up real quick.
